"If you're happy and you know it...
thank your friends." -Harvard Medical School
Studies show that people who have stronger social connections are happier, healthier, and live longer. Inversely, loneliness dramatically detracts from our wellbeing.
Thaw was inspired by the infamous "Seattle Freeze," which refers to the widespread difficulty newcomers to Seattle have making friends. It is suspected that tens of thousands of new Seattleites suffer from loneliness as a result of the freeze each year, and this problem exists in cities throughout North America and beyond. The Thaw project is intended to break the ice for urbanites new and seasoned, helping them build more quality relationships and more fulfilling social lives.
